Toys I was unemployed for a while but I had five children who were a good little research team, and in 1979 I thought up the Big Yellow Teapot (pictured). I went up to see a friend of mine, a designer, and gave him some drawings; thats what came out of it. And I so liked the teapot that I put together a range of five or six toys, which included a very nice little sweetshop, and thats how Bluebird Toys started. We made Polly Pocket, too. It was a terrific business.
